Introduction
Welcome to the General Settings section of our OnAppoint plugin. Here, you can configure various options to tailor your appointment scheduling system to your specific needs. These settings help you manage default time slots, service duration, booking and cancellation restrictions, and more.
Let's explore each setting:
Default Time Slot Step
This setting allows you to edit the length for the time slot step, it determines the gap between two time slots.
For example, if you select 5 minutes as the default time slot step and your service duration is 10 minutes, then the time slots are divided like
09:00 TO 09:10, 09:15 TO 09:25, etc. (booking after every 5-minute gap).
Default Service Duration
This setting allows you to edit the length for the time slot step, it determines the gap between two time slots.
For example, if you have selected 15 minutes for the service duration, then the new services that you are going to add will have a 15-minute default time duration for the service.
Minimum time needed to book an appointment
This setting determines how early customers need to book appointments, setting the minimum booking notice time.
For example, with a 15-minute minimum booking time, customers must book their appointment at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
A client can cancel their appointment
This setting determines whether the clients can cancel their appointments or not.
For example, If you enable this option, clients will be able to cancel their appointments.
Minimum time needed to cancel an appointment
This setting determines how late customers need to provide notice for appointment cancellations, establishing the minimum cancellation notice time.
For example, with a 15-minute minimum cancellation time, customers must cancel their appointment at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time
Minimum time needed to reschedule an appointment
This setting determines how late customers need to provide notice for appointment rescheduling, establishing the minimum rescheduling notice time.
For example, with a 15-minute minimum rescheduling time, customers must reschedule their appointment at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
Default Booking status
This setting determines the default booking status when clients can book their appointment.
For example, if the default status is 'pending'. when clients book their appointment then the status is set to 'pending'.
Default Date Format
This setting determines the default date format that will be used in the OnAppoint plugin.
For example, if the default date format is '11 Oct 2023,' then in the OnAppoint plugin, all dates are displayed in the selected date format.
Default Time status
This setting determines the default time format that will be used in the OnAppoint plugin.
For example, if the default time format is '24 Hour' then in the OnAppoint plugin, all times are displayed in the selected time format.

To add a General Setting, please follow these steps:
- Complete all the mandatory fields in the form.
- Finally, click on the Save button.
